If It's Not One Thing

...It's another.

See the large tree that curves from right to left (base to top)? I have often wondered how long it could hold on during the drought given it's angle.
I know the answer now.
Until August 2, 2009 at approximately 8:30am.
[No fences were lost to the falling of the tree.]

  1. My mother used to get excited when a tree would fall becuase then she knew she'd have free fire wood for the coming winter.

I am praying for you and I that our lives get calmer and much more quiet!

  2. Uh oh!

A couple of winters ago I came home to one of the 150 foot pine trees that used to be directly behind my house ON THE GROUND. Luckily it fell away from the house--the root ball was at least 8 feet tall. Can you imagine if that would have fallen on Chez SSG? I still thank mah lucky stars for that!

And then I came home to my cat stuck in one of the other trees ... but I think you already know that story ; )
