There is a tree that is too close to my house. I have dragged my feet in having it taken down, and in fact, it's large enough now that I have to get permission from the city treebeards (Lord of the Rings, anyone?) to take it down since it's a hardwood.
Right now, that tree is covered in gold leaves, and from 2 pm to around 4 pm it glows as if someone plugged it in.
Maybe I'll have it taken down next year.
Beautiful photo, Molly! I am out here in what was formerly a cow pasture with a lot of trees around, but only a small "grove" of mock oranges and other random scrub trees in my front yard in one patch. I miss seeing the vibrant Fall colors this year...because of no rain, our seem to have gone from green...to brown. Thanks for the picture and good luck on figuring the tree thing out! :)
