Random


Above is a cardinal nest that was abandoned by the female cardinal after the bush was cut back.  At first I thought it was the normal coming  and going that scared her away. But after I realized an egg had disappeared from the nest shortly after I took this picture, maybe it was some predator.  Aren't the eggs lovely?  The nest is very fragile.  Not what I'm used to seeing.  It's almost see through in some places.





I included this today because I like the ring around this guy's eye.  He looks a bit imperious, doesn't he?

  1. I had no idea a cardinal's eggs were speckled.
    I've thought recently about the guy you photographed last year with his mohawk.
