It was all color at the Farmer's Market this week. Like these Easter Egg radishes.
And there was a mushroom vendor. Aren't these wonderful looking?
I think the white ones in the lower right corner below (and above) look like sea sponges.
I loved this display. Minus someone's cup of coffee.
This display was fabulous too. See the okra arranged like flowers? It's just my composition doesn't do it justice.
Pumpkins were making their debut, here accompanied by purple top turnips.
These beauties are watermelon radishes. The farmer recommended them sliced thinly with sliced apples and tossed with a bit of orange juice, olive oil and salt and pepper.
Wow! That's some kind of Farmer's market. We are headed for Seattle on Tuesday and Pike's market is on the top of Jack's list. I'll try to get some pics.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I agree those mushrooms look more like sponges than shrooms. I wonder who was the first brave person to try eating them.
ReplyDeleteOlá! Suas fotos são lindas! Gostei especialmente dos rabanetes, com cores diversificadas e as abóboras. Belíssimo! Ótimo blog. Um abraço, Serena (Brasil)
