Marketing
It was all color at the Farmer's Market this week. Like these Easter Egg radishes.
And there was a mushroom vendor. Aren't these wonderful looking?
I think the white ones in the lower right corner below (and above) look like sea sponges.
I loved this display. Minus someone's cup of coffee.
This display was fabulous too. See the okra arranged like flowers? It's just my composition doesn't do it justice.
Pumpkins were making their debut, here accompanied by purple top turnips.
These beauties are watermelon radishes. The farmer recommended them sliced thinly with sliced apples and tossed with a bit of orange juice, olive oil and salt and pepper.

Beauty
There's beauty in utility. And I like the sense of being part of a chain of people who use and appreciate something. I suppose that's why antiques and thrift stores and yard sales are so appealing to me.
I especially find myself attracted to things that I saw or used during my childhood. These Pyrex dishes are an example. We didn't have a red one, but we had these dishes and they were in use daily.
That's why this is in my windowsill. It reminds me of so much.
